Why Dragon Quest III Still Feels Magical – My First...
In 1991 I bought my first JRPG on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was Final Fantasy, and while this was my first real RPG that I bought myself with my allowance, I never finished it. It was confusing, the first dungeon was hard, and I was too young to understand what was going on in the game!
Then I got my first real experience with a little game now called Dragon Quest, and that happened in 1992 when I bought Dragon Warrior III for the NES. At the time I had no idea what “Dragon Quest” even was. I just saw the game, took it home, and started playing. That single cartridge became the beginning of a real love for JRPGs in me.
